Our office uses the iCAT® CBCT Cone Beam Scans for orthodontic diagnisis and treatment planning.  While CT (computed tomography) imaging has been used in the medical field for over 30 years, it is becoming the new diagnostic tool of choice for orthodontic analysis, diagnosis and treatment planning. This 3D CT technology can provide a quicker full scan of the head than traditional two-dimensional imaging, allowing orthodontists a better visualization of the hard and soft tissues of the craniofacial structures from several perspectives.   • About 1/2 as much as a full series of digital dental images
  • About 1/5 as much as a full (28) mouth series of standard dental x-rays
  • About 1/70 as much as a typical medical CT scan
